Terms & Conditions

I agree to my child taking part in Jolly Foresters Activities. Sessions will be led by a trained practitioner. I understand that my child will, at an appropriate level, have opportunities to work with hand tools and small fires through the course of their session and may have the chance to cook and eat during the session. I consent for my child to receive emergency first aid should the need arise, and for my child to receive emergency treatment from healthcare professionals.

Taking part in forest club activities is conditional on individuals (and their parents/guardians) recognising that these activities are activities where the potential for misadventure exists, including personal injury.

I declare that in the event of any claim of compensation for an incident, the claim will only be against another party directly involved in that incident.

No compensation will be sought from the Company or directors unless they are found, by law, to have acted in a negligent or illegal manner.

All safety rules and procedures must be followed.

Cancellation Policy

If we cancel a session due to weather or government guidance, we will issue a credit note for 100 percent of the booking. This will be a cash refund to your account that you paid with.

Please only book a place if you intend to join.

We have a no cancellation policy. Please only book a place if you intend for your child to attend.

We understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances can happen (medical and the likes) and you may need to alter or cancel a booking. We will do everything we can to accommodate requests for this. If we can fill your place if you give us enough notice ( more than 1 week) we will be able to offer you a credit to your account minus administration fee of £5 per session booked. Please note that one week before the booking is due, we will be unable to cancel or alter a booking.

Behaviour Policy

It is expected that children attending the club adhere to our club rules:

  •  We are always polite, kind and considerate, and we look after each other
  • We listen to each other and the grownups
  • We always answer if we hear 123 Where are you
  • We always look after animals
  • We look after plants-we try not to pick living things
  • We are careful and aware when we are using sticks-
  • you may carry a stick shorter than your arm (but make sure you are not too close to anybody)- longer light sticks can be dragged behind us- heavier sticks need 2 or more people.
  • We don't throw sticks or pull them from a living tree.
  • Sticks are for imaginative play but not fighting

On the occasion that a child is unable to follow the rules, we will talk to them in the first instance. If we find they are still unable to follow the rules, we will talk to their parents at pick up.

We use dangerous items such as fire, knives and saws. It is vital that during the sessions the children are able to follow instructions to keep themselves and others safe. If a child is a danger to others or themselves, we will have to ask the parents to come and fetch them. Cancellation caused by behaviour is non refundable.

Special Educational Needs

Our sessions are not suitable for every type of special need. We work outdoors, in woodland settings, with few or no physical boundaries, and our days are physically strenuous. We use tools and fire which is a risk if rules are not understood or followed. Additionally, we encourage a fluid, child-led approach to activities, which can result in plans changing with very little notice if the group decides it wants to do something new.

We will always try to accommodate children with special educational or behavioural needs. However, our priority is keeping all the children and our staff safe and happy, so we will only accept a child if we feel that he/she can cope with the demands of the day, and that our staff can provide them with the support that they need. We want all children to have a good time. We accept children with special educational or behavioural needs entirely at our discretion, and if it transpires that a child cannot cope with the demands of our day we will expect you to collect them. If we feel the need to cancel future bookings we will refund you the fee in full. If you would like your child to join us then you must phone the office 07770287216 to discuss your child’s needs with us before you place the booking. We may, at our sole discretion, agree to accept your child on the condition that they come with one-to-one supervision from a suitable adult, to be arranged by you and subject to our DBS checks. Bookings for children with special educational or behavioural needs that are made without the prior agreement of Jolly Foresters may be cancelled at short notice and without a refund.
